Walk Day 25 – Sahagún

09/30 – Hit the trail early this morning heading to the town of Sahagun. Sahagun is where you can also receive a halfway certificate on the Camino.

The Meseta was beautiful today as well, no more rain, but clear skies all the way. Really some lovely countryside here in Spain.

Morning sunrise across the Meseta
Interesting places built into the hillside used over 1000 years ago to store grain or wine. Some of these are still used today. Nope no hobbits living there!

As I approached closer to Sahagun I gained more energy knowing I would be able to get an official certificate for walking half of the Camino Frances. Technically I hit halfway yesterday but this would be an official acknowledgment.

Lovely countryside of the Meseta

Love these statues as you enter Sahagun

My official certificate for completing more than half the Camino de Santiago

The walk today was beautiful. It had rained yesterday so the air was crisp and smelled so good from the rain. Just a beautiful walk with no real issues.

My thoughts: so excited to get this certificate today. It’s taken a lot of work and focus to walk this far (almost 300 miles). I’m feeling exited and strong and ready to keep pushing to Santiago. As usual I am humble, appreciative, and I feel fortunate to be here on this journey.
