09/29- Hit the trail at 6am today heading 17 miles to Terradillos de Los Templarios. Today was a cold morning with chances of rain later in the afternoon.

The plate reads: “In life you’re a pilgrim toward God’s eternity”

Walking through the plains today there were very few places to stop in the open land. The long stretches of paths give you a lot of time to listen to the sounds of the wind and nature far away from any roads. Luckily this morning, a food truck was parked right in the middle of nowhere…when we all needed some coffee. This is a rare occurrence but very welcomed.

Food truck coffee break!
I always run into so many great people on this journey and we separate, walk our own paths, but somehow end up in towns again together. Such is the case for Yehuda from Jerusalem, Israel and of course my walking buddies Mike and Viola from North Carolina.

The Camino has its own police force that looks out for us pilgrims and keeps us safe. Today we got the chance to meet them and thank them for all they do to keep us safe along the Camino. Really great guys

About 3/4 of the way of todays journey, it began to rain. Luckily I have my super sexy rain poncho to keep me dry! Ha ha

Today I have walked over 270 miles and more than halfway to my final destination. Seems crazy to think about how far I’ve walked. Still a long way to go, but getting there. Tomorrow those of us who walked from St Jean Pied de Port, France will receive a half compestella certificate that confirms we’ve reached our halfway point on the Camino. The second half will move a lot faster than the first as it’s primarily flat and not as physically difficult as the first.

My thoughts: feeling good physically and mentally. Looking forward to tomorrows walk. Always humble, super grateful, and appreciative.
